Youth Hockey Clinic
Dear Parents and Skaters:
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Melody Brook’s Youth Hockey Clinic. We thank you for choosing our program and look forward to working with you. There are a few important pieces of information we would like to pass on to you in order to make your learning experience a pleasant one.
· All players must have full equipment: Consisting of helmet with face mask, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants and suspenders, athletic cup, shin pads and hockey socks.
· Skates: Skates must fit properly. This is extremely important, if the skates are too big or too small, they will inhibit your child’s ability to accomplish the skills being taught. Typically, skates will run ½ to 1 size smaller than your child’s shoe size.
· Tightening of your skates: It is imperative that you tie your skates as tight as you can in order to give you the support you will need. Generally, the skate laces must be removed from the top three eyelets and then put on the foot and tightened one section at a time. Any excess lace you have, tie them in a double bow.
· Being on time: We ask you to be on time for your class. It is only an hour and a half lesson, and we want you and the others in your class to get the full hour and a half. Every time someone comes in late, the instructor gets interrupted, and the class gets off track; so,
PLEASE BE ON TIME!
WHAT THE CLINIC TEACHES
